SIP elaborately devised a series of theme activities for the May Day holiday, offering visitors a wonderful experience integrating shopping, travel, cultural exploration, sports and exhibitions.

Statistics show that during the five-day holiday, SIP’s key scenic areas and resorts received more than 1.93 million visitors, up 7% year-on-year. The combined income of 12 key hotels around Jinji Lake and Yangcheng Lake reached RMB29.88 million, and 10 key commercial complexes reported sales of RMB380 million, an increase of over 15% YoY.
SIP’s efforts to fuel “sweet economy” continued to show good results. Wedding and matchmaking services companies, jewelry shops and hotels kept on offering coupons to consumers, boosting a surge in consumption. Romantic experiences such as the Damask rose wall at the square near Jinji Lake, the theme activities at the “Suzhou Eye” Ferris wheel and diverse markets and performances allowed couples and families to create happy memories together.

Moreover, diverse art events such as the SIP May 4 Youth Art Week, the concerts given by professional singers and amateurs and the exhibitions at different museums provided both locals and tourists with opportunities to savor the charm of various forms of art in an immersive way.

Sports events including football and tennis matches ignited spectators’ passion, while the Suzhou International Auto Show brought over 1,000 vehicles from 100-plus brands close to car enthusiasts.
