At the invitation of the China Cultural Center in Cairo, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZS) will stage two concerts at Cairo Opera House, Egypt, on June 10 and 11, joining the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt.

On June 10, conducted by SZS Music Director Chen Xieyang and Egyptian conductor Ahmed El Saedi, the orchestra will perform a list of globally renowned music works highlighting Chinese and Egyptian cultural and artistic elements. On June 11, the SZS will stage another concert comprising classic Chinese and Western music works.

In addition to the performances, the SZS will engage in in-depth academic and artistic exchanges with China Cultural Center in Cairo and Cairo Opera House to jointly explore pathways for development of symphony. Chen Guangxian, head of SZS, will give local audiences a lecture on evolution of Chinese symphony.
