Ten years ago, the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in SIP initiated the STEM Science Fest which, today, has become a bridge connecting classrooms with industries, and Suzhou with the world.

Centered on hands-on projects, robotics competitions, maker innovation, and interdisciplinary challenges, the STEM Science Fest is designed to guide young people to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in real-world tasks, mastering skills for the entire innovation journey from concept design to iterative refinement.
Today, the STEM Science Fest has grown into a platform for international exchange, youth growth, collaborative education, and empowerment for local development.

The fest keeps pace with the times. It is pioneering a new education model aimed at inspiring and supporting innovative practices around real opportunities, real problems, and real challenges related to one-person companies (OPCs). Under such model, young students no longer limit themselves to classroom projects but dive deep into solving real corporate challenges, like helping smart home brands go global, analyzing overseas consumer markets, and optimizing product design and brand communication. This allows them to truly achieve a leap in their ability to turn ideas into reality.

Over the past decade, the STEM Science Fest has continuously absorbed cutting-edge educational concepts and resources from around the world, facilitating mutual learning and exchange between Chinese and international STEM practices, and serving as a vital bridge for SIP to gear into global innovation networks.
