For a child battling leukemia, a small wish can mean the world. A volunteer team in Langke Community in SIP’s Jinji Lake Sub-district has spent over a decade making those wishes come true.
Since the launch of the Ward Childhood Dream Project in 2014, the volunteers from the community visit the wards in the Children’s Hospital of Soochow University on a regular basis, listening to young patients share their hopes and dreams. Subsequently, they put up a “Wish Tree” in the community square, encouraging residents to select and help fulfill these wishes.
After more than ten years of efforts, the project has made 184 childhood wishes come true.

The volunteers have also set up the “Dream Book Corner” in the hospital, donating over 1,500 books as of this month, offering children in the wards a window to the outside world.
