The 1st SIP Reading Week kicked off on Apr 18, while the industrial park’s 2026 series of reading activities were launched concurrently.

The 1st SIP Reading Week consists of 200 events including book sharing sessions, parent-child reading sessions and intangible cultural heritage workshops, where a host of renowned writers and scholars will show up.

The guide for over 2,000 reading events scheduled this year was released. Among the events are the “Looking for Book Selectors” campaign, the French Literature Reading Week and book markets which are designed to break the boundaries of reading and expand reading scenarios.

The “Lakeside Reading” Four-Season Co-Reading Program was launched, with “Reading Ambassadors” guiding citizens to explore cultural heritage through ancient texts in spring, nourish the mind with classics in summer, share life insights through reading in autumn, and pass on folk traditions in winter.
The “Reading-Creation Integration” Partnership Program was also launched, encouraging bookstores to fulfill their role in promoting reading among the public by enriching the supply of high-quality readings.

It is worth mentioning that a series of online dialogues and sharing sessions will be held in collaboration with the National Library Board of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and other Singaporean partners.
