Xinshang Shufang, a creative cultural space integrating books, tea, music, cultural creations and public-benefit activities, formally opened at SIP’s Harmony Times Square recently, offering people an ideal place to find internal peace.
Unlike traditional bookstores, this space features several distinctive reading areas which house approximately 2,000 books. A highlight is its “blind boxes” which allow readers to randomly encounter a new bestseller or a recycled classic bearing the author’s signature.
In addition to a quality and diversified collection, the facility strives to create “reading+” scenarios, integrating reading with life aesthetics. Here, visitors are surrounded by books and beautiful plants, and can enjoy both spiritual and sensory delight with a book in one hand and a cup of tea in the other.
This year, the bookstore plans to host over 20 themed events across three series, catering to diverse groups. These include author meet-and-greets, immersive experiences combining poetry and music, and workshops for families and office workers, all aimed at fostering cultural exchanges and planting the “seeds” of reading and beauty within the community of readers.
