Parks in SIP offer refreshing experiences this spring

This spring, SIP weaves together the distinct charm of its urban parks along three lakes, seamlessly blending the traditional elegance and modernity unique to Jiangnan (the region south of the Yangtze River).

Along the shores of Jinji Lake, the Lakeside Park integrates the scenic waterfront with the timeless allure of Jiangnan culture. A stroll along the lakeside promenade reveals a sequence of parks from north to south, where spring flowers are in full bloom.

The Baitang Arboretum, located east of Jinji Lake, covers approximately 60.5 hectares. It showcases seasonal highlights with rich and diverse plants. The park is also a habitat for birds such as egrets, sparrows and wild ducks.

Spanning about 121 hectares, the Dongshahu Eco-park was transformed from a former aquaculture farm and has preserved its original wetland landscape. The park is home to around 400 species of native plants, with a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees. Approximately 50 species of aquatic plants, including lotus and water lily, help purify the water.

Situated at the junction of SIP and Suzhou’s old town, the Central Park is a green oasis amidst the towering cityscape.

The Yangcheng Lake Peninsula boasts vegetation coverage of 80%. Located at the heart of the peninsula and facing Chongyuan Temple across the road, the Lianchi Lake Park covers approximately 79 hectares. Its crystal-clear lake and lush greenery together form a picturesque landscape.

The Xianying Lake Park is a verdant expanse filled with negative oxygen ions. Winding wooden bridges meander through the trees, while cherry blossoms in spring resemble clouds of snow.

The West Lake Bay Ecological Sports Park boasts 4.5 kilometers of shoreline along Yangcheng Lake. The lakeside cycling path connects green spaces, expansive lawns, vibrant flower fields, and wooden walkways.

Located on the shore of Dushu Lake, Egret Garden derives its name from the egrets that inhabit the area year-round. Its high greenery coverage creates a fresh ecological atmosphere, complemented by varied terrain and distinct seasonal landscapes.

Near Egret Garden stands a famous “solitary” tree. The grassy area beneath it offers an ideal spot for camping and picnics.

The Dushu Lake Park features a series of attractions along the lake shores, integrating a sports square, fountain, tree-lined pathways, and a tranquil bamboo garden.
