Over the first quarter of this year, SIP has seen a continuous stream of achievements and a surging wave of momentum in its biotech, integrated circuit and AI clusters.

According to statistics from BioBAY, more than half of the out-licensing deals for innovative drugs in China came from the park in the first quarter. Among these, MediLink Therapeutics signed the second exclusive license agreement with Roche, securing a US$570 million upfront payment, while Innovent Biologics reached the seventh partnership with Eli Lilly, with total payments potentially reaching up to US$8.85 billion.

Moreover, several companies in BioBAY have completed their latest rounds of financing, totaling over RMB1.6 billion, which will be directed primarily toward innovative drug R&D and clinical trials. Meanwhile, leading enterprises are expanding their presence in SIP, with new projects completed and operationalized successively. New medical products like Basecare’s PGT-A kit for third-generation in-vitro fertilization (IVF) have been approved.

In the IC cluster, both new projects and investments are increasing. S&S Tech, South Korea’s only and the world’s third-largest blank mask manufacturer, signed an agreement with the government of Suzhou to invest US$150 million to build an R&D and manufacturing base for blank masks used in flat-panel displays in SIP. Ifm has expanded investment to set up in SIP its first manufacturing and R&D base in China.

In the AI cluster, advanced AI-driven solutions are springing up. In mid-March, Jupiter Intelligence launched the JOVE Glasses S1, a pair of AI (artificial intelligence)+AR (augmented reality) smart glasses powered by its self-developed intelligent agent “Jenius”. The glasses transform spoken commands into structured tasks—from checking train schedules and comparing prices to completing payments.

Recently, BoCloud Technology unveiled BoClaw, an AI agent platform that enables unattended automation for tasks such as report generation and data synchronization.

At the same time, industry-leading enterprises are accelerating concentration in SIP. Recently, Startec, an intelligent manufacturing equipment and solution supplier, opened its headquarters and R&D production base in the park.
